Welcome to Wingfield Psychiatry

I am a psychiatrist with over a decade of experience providing psychiatric assessment and treatment to adults ages 18 and up in the Seattle Area.

I work with adults in a variety of situations and life stages. One of the things I like most about my work is talking to people about themselves and their lives, where they are and where they want to be - and how to get there. I believe that every person knows themselves best, and my job is to increase self knowledge, work on what may be holding people back, and help them move forward in their lives.

I offer both in person appointments in West Seattle and telehealth services to Seattle area residents on a secure portal. All initial intake appointments are in person.

Meet Dr. Wingfield

I entered medical school at age 29 after years of working and volunteering in the social services in the Bay Area. I completed a residency in Adult Psychiatry at the University of Washington in Seattle, graduating in 2010. I worked for nearly 14 years as a outpatient psychiatrist at Valley Medical Center in Renton. That was an amazing opportunity to work with a very diverse group of patients. I have opened a private practice to allow me to have the time and space to get to know my patients as people, and practice medicine in a holistic manner.

My Approach

Assessment means the two of us working together to figure out what is going on in your life - I am experienced in making psychiatric diagnoses but believe that every person is much more than any diagnosis. Assessment starts with the first appointment - the Psychiatric intake- but continues throughout our time working together.

I work with common psychiatric conditions including Depression, Anxiety (OCD, Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder), Trauma related disorders and Bipolar Disorder as well as problems of living including situational stress and mood issues.

Treatment may include education, psychotherapy, medication (starting and or stopping medications with close attention to benefits and side effects), supplements, lifestyle recommendations (sleep, nutrition and exercise) recommendations. It may also involve referral to other practitioners for modalities such as specialized psychotherapy, substance abuse treatment, TMS and or ketamine treatment.

If you are seeing a psychotherapist, life coach or other practitioner, I would be happy to coordinate care with your current care team.

My background includes training in psychiatric diagnoses, pharmacology, and psychotherapy. I am also interested in the use of supplements and lifestyle changes to address psychiatric issues and overall health. With any mode of treatment I believe in listening to my patients and respecting their values and choices in their health.

I do not provide the following services:

  • Court ordered treatment

  • Child custody evaluations

  • Anger Management evaluation/treatment

  • Domestic Violence

  • Concealed weapons evaluations

  • Severe Eating disorders

  • Emergency psychiatry including acute suicidal or homicidal crises

For New Patients

I offer a 15 minute free phone call to see if we might be a good fit. If you are interested in a call, please complete this brief questionnaire and I will call you back. Please note that filling out the questionnaire and the phone conversation do not establish a doctor patient relationship.

My new patient initial consultation appointments are 75 minute long. All initial consultation appointments are in person appointments on Tuesdays or Fridays at my West Seattle office.
