FAQ

  • What happens after our initial phone call?
If we agree that we will meet for a psychiatric consultation, we will schedule a 75 minute in person appointment at my West Seattle office. Before that appointment, I will send you a link to my intake forms and clinic policies. Please complete and return the intake forms at least 48 hours before your appointment.
  • How do I pay for appointments?
Your credit card will be on file in the secure patient portal, and I will charge the credit card for your appointment after the appointment is complete. Please see the fee schedule for fees. I am not an in network provider with commercial insurance. If you have commercial insurance, you can obtain a super bill from the patient portal and submit it to your insurance company for any out of network benefits you are entitled to under your plan. Once I am enrolled with Medicare (anticipate this in November 2024) people with Medicare will be able to be reimbursed for services with me, at the Medicare determined schedule.
  • Can I use insurance to pay for medications or labwork?
Yes, you can use insurance to pay for medications or labwork. I will collect your insurance information in the intake paperwork order to be able to use it when prescribing medications or completing prior authorizations.
  • Is there parking near your office?
There is plentiful street parking near the West Seattle office.
  • Are your appointments in person or on video?
My initial appointments are all in person in the West Seattle office. For follow up appointments, I offer both in person and video appointments. In person appointments are on Tuesdays and Fridays only. Video appointments can be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, though I will preferentially book in person appointments on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Do you see patients who live outside of the Puget Sound area?
I am only able to see patients who live in Washington State. My first appointment is an in person appointment, and I believe that it is important to be able to be seen in person for subsequent appointments. Therefore, the patients I serve live in the Puget Sound area.
  • Do you work with children?
I am licensed to work with adults age 18 and up. I do not work with children.
  • What should I do if I have an issue or emergency outside of regular business hours?
For non urgent issues, you can use the patient portal to send me a message or leave a phone message. I will check these messages the next business day. I do not check or respond to messages outside of business hours. The following are resources for urgent/emergent issues outside of regular business hours: If you want emotional support from a peer who understands mental health challenges, the Washington Warm line operates Monday-Sunday 9 am to 10 pm at 1-877-500-WARM (9276) https://www.crisisconnections.org/wa-warm-line/.
